Three Ways To Manage Your Time & Increase Your Bottom Line

But with everything that has to get done, many small business owners feel as if 24 hours in a day is just not enough time. So what do you do to ensure you remain laser-focused on those tasks that are generating consistent revenue in your business?

Productivity Equals Profitability!

As a small business owner, we often wear many hats! There are times when we don’t know the end from the beginning. This can lead to becoming sidetrack when determining what needs to be done in order for the business to grow. The one thing I want you to remember as a small business owner is that CASH IS KING! There those tasks that are generating revenue quickly are most important. 

As the CEO, you must gain clarity on how to earn, control and keep more money in your business. This is important to your overall success. But what do you do when the many tasks on your To Do List need to be completed but most of them are not revenue generating tasks?

  1. Use Theme Days. This is when you designate particular tasks on certain days of the week. During those days you only work on the tasks you have deemed important for that day. For example, Mondays here at Say Yes To Profits are Marketing Mondays. On this day my team and I are only working on marketing related activities. If you call into SYTP on Mondays you will likely speak to a team member but you will not be able to reach me. Tuesday – Thursday are Client Relation days. During these days I am conducting VIP sessions, Financial Accountability Sessions and generally calling my clients as part of a weekly check-up. Now with you having a clear understanding of theme days, how will you use this strategy to become productive in your business?
  2. Block Time. Block time is when you block out a set amount of time on your calendar to work on a specific task. Using a timer you dedicate your attention to the task at hand. Once the timer goes off, you wrap up that task and move to the next one. This is a great strategy for ensuring that you complete the many tasks on your To Do List on any given day. When using Block Time you want to be sure to leave notes when you complete a task. This will allow you to immediately pick up where you left off.
  3. Revenue Generator List. This is a strategy that I developed. This is one of my favorite time management strategies! Creating a Revenue Generator List is something I discuss in great details in my book Say Yes To Profits Now. Basically, it similar to a To Do List but it helps you laser focus on making money while being productive. When creating a Revenue Generator List you want to list all of the tasks that you must complete that day or week. Next to each task list the amount of money you will earn once that task is completed. Last, sort the task list by the highest earning task. As you complete each task, check it off the list, invoice your client, update your accounting system then move on to the next task. I love this strategy because you are sure to earn money faster in your business.
